The first truck handover ceremony of the NTE360A NHL mining truck

Hunter Valley, Australia - 05 August 2022 First hit of change in the ultra-class haul truck market here in Australia, with a new serious contender entering the market dominated by the traditional suppliers.

On the morning of August 5, 2022, the handover ceremony of the first 6 off NTE360A mining trucks was held at Yancoal's Mt Thorley Warkworth (MTW) Coal Mine site. The participants of the ceremony including the Yancoal management team, the onsite technical team from NHL, and representatives from Dadi Australia and Aury Australia. The management teams of NHL in China and Zhongyin Financing Lease Group also attended the handover ceremony remotely via video conference to witness this milestone event.



Shane Saunders commenced the official handover ceremony and outlined the project to date, starting with the selection process, QA efforts, extensive onsite testing, and delivery of NHL trucks.

Mr Wu from NHL discussed how appreciative that Yancol MTW intrusted NHL to deliver the mines new truck fleet and that the parties had worked together to successfully deliver the NHL NET360A trucks.



Mr Xiaoming Yuan (Aaron) expressed his gratitude to MTW personnel and to NHL for working cooperative with the Aury Australia team and confirmed Aury’s commitment to supporting the MTW NHL trucks through parts and servicing.

Mr Xu from Yancoal thanked the MTW project team, the Yancoal procurement team and the Aury team for all their hard work in completing the first truck.

Mr David Bennet from Yancoal MTW discussed the selecting of the NHL trucks and how MTW went through a rigours selection process and once complete the chose to proceed with the NHL trucks was obvious and the right decision for MTW. David thanked the Yancoal board for their support throughout the process. He also thanked Aury Australia and appreciated the focus on delivering the project safely. He also noted that the project was not without some significant changers however with the dedication from the project team made it a success.

Mr Geoffrey Raby (AO), Yancoal independent director, congratulated the teams on delivering the trucks and told the audiences that the board carefully considered the NHL truck selection and agreed with David Bennet that NHL is the right truck for the MTW operations, and the board was kept fully informed of the project process and are delighted with the business outcomes.



The handover ceremony participants arrived on the build pad to see the first truck, truck number 450, being officially handed over to the mine site operations. Truck No. 450 was ready for work and looked imposing with a large ribbon and banner hanging on the front, was arranged among six other NTE360A mining trucks. Mr David Bennett cut the ribbon and congratulated the build team on their performance in both safety performance, delivery of a quality product and the cooperation between all involved.



The NTE360A electric wheel mining truck is a high-end model developed by NHL Group for the Australian market, with a rated load of 330 tonnes. It is the first mining truck that was designed, assembled and delivered to an Australian customer by NHL. Delivery of the NHL trucks is a milestone for a Chinese mining truck to break the influence of the traditional market leaders, and highlights the future potential for NHL trucks in the Australian market.

The mining industry were asking the question, is NHL be able to deliver a haul truck that would be capable to rival the performance of the industry big names, the simple answer is, yes. The NHL haul truck is no pretender, with every aspect of the design has been focused on delivering a haul truck that achieves and exceeds the requirements and expectations of customers. With world leading components combined with NHL’s proven designs it’s not surprising that the result was achieved.

Dadi Australia and Aury Australia signed a service agreement with NHL to provide NHL trucks with services including assembly, testing, commissioning and warranty services. The project team has experienced the adverse impact of the COVID-19 Pandemic, the disrupted supply of parts, delays from other subcontractors, lack of labour and wet weather in the Hunter region, etc. However, the team has met the challenge and difficulty by fully leveraging the team's professionalism and efficiency to deliver this project. The quality of work and performance of the project team are highly appreciated and granted by the customer and NHL.
