TDS is the latest generation of cost-effective X-ray sensor-based dry sorter. It has become a game-changer technology that is revolutionizing the mineral and coal processing industry. Working principle:

Feed materials, either ROM coal or ore particles, are fed onto a moving conveyor belt by the vibrating feeder. A dual X-ray source and a CCD camera (optional) mounted above the belt scan each particle on the belt. Software algorithms then identify the parties and calculate their trajectory off the belt, and a computer-controlled air jet separates target particles accordingly. All these actions happen within a very short period of time as the belt typically travels at 2.5 to 3 m/s. The computer-controlled solenoids on the air jet can open and close within milliseconds. A dust collector is equipped in the system to capture the fugitive dust generated during the separation process.
